Little Toe in the Tiber

My name is Rachel and I am wife to Jonathan and mother to Juliana (16) and Thomas (14). We have been home schooling with Sonlight for eight years. After beginning a search for a church home when our church closed, I began to feel an unexpected and unwelcome tug to the Roman Catholic Church. I was obsessed with finding out as much as I could on the internet and discovered that some other home schoolers using the Sonlight curriculum were on a similar path and I joined their Yahoo group, Catholic Spitfire Grill. Redneck Woman (now known as Sister Spitfire) posted a plea for EVERYONE in the group to begin a blog, even if they thought they’d be no good. So here I am.

I really enjoy reading, spinning, knitting, traveling and eating. I have recently been obsessed with getting food as close to nature as possible and will soon be grinding my own wheat so I can control what goes into my bread! It’s a sickness. Because of these obsessions, I’m not sure when I’ll find time to blog!
